Americas CardRoom Summary
Welcome to our America’s Cardroom Review for 2016! Americas CardRoom is the premier poker site for American players and is a member of the Winning Poker Network (or WPN). Player traffic on this site peaks at around 1500 players, and averages 850, which is high for a site that allows U.S. players. Finding a good game on this site is never an issue. The initial signup offer here is solid, as is the VIP scheme. As far as game selection goes, Americas CardRoom is above average, and you can also access a linked sports betting website for your convenience.
Americas CardRoom’s poker software is excellent and has all the features players look for, deposits and cashouts are handled quickly and professionally, there is ample customer support, and the ownership group has a reputation of bailing out shady operations rather than one of controversy. America’s Cardroom is a solid choice for all English speaking poker players, and probably the best choice available to Americans. Let’s take a closer look at what this website has to offer:
- Well-polished software
- Great customer support
- Accepts Bitcoin
- Weak mobile support
Americas CardRoom Bonus
When you download the software and make your first deposit at America’s Cardroom, you get three instant benefits. First, you will instantly receive a 100% bonus that matches your deposit amount up to $1,000! Next, over the ensuing 20 days, you will receive a card worth between $2 and $6 for play in Free Jackpot Poker tournaments. That’s $40 to $120 of free play just for making your first deposit. Lastly, you receive four entries into the weekly $250 New Depositor Freeroll tournament, where you can win free money.
In order to release your deposit bonus, you need to accumulate 27.5 award points for every $1. Award points and combat points can be earned as part of the Americas CardRoom VIP program, which we’ll cover later. The signup offer at America’s Cardroom is lucrative when compared to the rest of the industry, and it seems to be working. This poker site is experiencing steady growth each year.
Games and Features
Most poker players will appreciate the game selection at Americas CardRoom. They have Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, and 32 Card Draw. That’s enough games to keep everybody entertained and playing poker! What’s also great is that you also get access to the America’s Cardroom Sportsbook and Casino, so you can place all of your sports wagers in between poker hands.
If you’re concerned about finding a table with the number of players and stakes that you like, rest assured that you’ll be able to find yourself a good game. The Winning Poker Network has a very good amount of traffic, so the average number of players at any given time is 850, or a minimum of 85 tables to choose from.
Software and Applications
The software at America’s Cardroom is excellent. It has great graphics and presents a fun poker environment overall. Poker play is smooth and error-free, and the included automation features make multi-tabling much easier and more entertaining, with a maximum number of 24 tables. At this time, software must be downloaded for Windows or Mac computer users, and Americas CardRoom is still working on its applications for Android and iOS mobile devices. The website says that the apps will be available soon, but we don’t expect to see them until next year.
Newer features recently added to the America’s Cardroom software are improved Main and Tournament Lobbies, an “Inside” Tournament Lobby, and the new Ring Game Filters that help you find a game to your liking and specifications much more quickly. Both active and waiting players have also been combined into a single list so you can not only choose the game you play, but who you play it with. The software developed for America’s Cardroom is clearly among the best, and we can’t wait to see the new mobile apps!
Allowed Third Party Poker Add-ons
Americas CardRoom strongly discourages the use of third party poker add-ons. Like most well-known poker sites, their reputation for fair play is extremely important, and using add-ons and poker bots is a great way to ruin that. If they suspect any players of any wrongdoing including collusion, the suspect’s account can be suspended indefinitely at any time. With all of the great automation built-in to this great software, you won’t need anything else to multi-table anyway.
Promotions and VIP Scheme
The VIP program at America’s Cardroom is called Elite Benefits. With this program, each player earns Rank Points for each hand of poker they play. When enough Rank Points are accumulated, the player’s Rank goes up. Players start out at the rank of Lieutenant and go up from there. As players earn Rank Points, they also earn Combat Points which can be redeemed for cash, prizes, and merchandise in the store. Each Rank Point is multiplied by the multiplier to determine the number of Combat Points received. As players rank up, their Combat Point multiplier increases, so they accumulate Combat Points much faster. Here’s a quick list of ranks and Combat Point Multipliers:
Rank Combat Point Multiplier
Five Star General 5.0
As you can see, Combat Points can accumulate much more rapidly as players rank up. This VIP system is easy to understand and fun, so we like it very much.
Another great promotion at Americas CardRoom is called the Beast. This is a progressive amount that all players automatically compete to win. Each week, players at cash tables earn points by playing based on stakes. At the end of the week, leaderboards display the top points earners and award cash prizes and tournament entries. It’s easy, and everyone’s automatically entered to win!
A third promotion offered on this poker site is called Sit N’ Crush. This promotion is very similar to the Beast, but it’s a race to earn points playing Sit N’ Go’s, Jackpot Poker, and On Demand tournaments. Each player in these games accumulates points and at the end of the week the leaderboard is determined, and prizes are awarded. This is another progressive pot, just aimed at tournament players rather than the cash game players. If you fancy it, check out our Rules for SNG Success!
Americas CardRoom is also currently running a promotion called OSS Cub3d, which is four straight weeks of poker tournament series, with a prize total of 4.5 million dollars. This promotion is massive, and prizes include seats at live events and sterling silver bracelets for the champions.
Customer Service and Support
Customer support at America’s Cardroom is well above average. You can call their phone line 24/7, or you can just click instantly to the live chat if you have any urgent questions. There are two available forums to be found online, and the FAQ section is extensive and full of good information. As a solid, established poker site, this kind of quality customer service is to be expected.
The current ownership of America’s Cardroom is Betcris, a sportsbook that is huge in Latin America. They are based in San Jose, Costa Rica, and their gaming license is through the Malta Gaming Authority at present. When Betcris acquired this poker site, it was called DoylesRoom after poker legend Doyle Brunson, and it was in bad financial shape. Betcris made sure that all players who wanted payouts were taken care of, and since Brunson didn’t want his name associated with the site any longer, they renamed it America’s Cardroom. It’s been going strong ever since, and it enjoys a solid reputation among the industry and the poker players. Betcris and America’s Cardroom are doing a great job with this poker site.
Famous Americas CardRoom Ambassadors
When it comes to poker ambassadors, America’s Cardroom is stacked. They’ve got a team of five well-known poker professionals who represent the site and play on it regularly. Americas CardRoom Poker ambassadors are:
- Doug Polk – WSOP winner 2014
- Chris Moorman – three WSOP final table appearances
- Maria Ho – $1.8 million career earnings
- Joshua Beckley – 2015 WSOP final table
- Alec Torelli – $1.4 million career earnings.
These high-profile ambassadors keep America’s Cardroom well represented in the poker world at all of the major events and all year round.
Americas CardRoom Review Conclusion
- Busy community, easy enough to find tables
- Excellent customer support
- Supports Bitcoin
- Great for US players
- Many ambassadors
We weren’t so sure about:
- Limited game selection
- Limited mobile support
In the ever-changing online poker landscape, it’s somehow comforting to have America’s Cardroom. This is a poker site that enjoys a solid reputation among players and continues to do a great job providing a great poker experience. We can’t fault the bonuses, as well as a decent game selection, linked casino and sportsbook, software, promotions, VIP scheme, customer service, and a team of professional poker ambassadors that are all top-notch. In fact, the only negative about this poker site is the current lack of mobile apps, which should be addressed in the near future. If the new mobile apps are anything like the rest of this awesome poker site, we can’t wait to use them. Americas CardRoom is still the best choice for U.S. poker players, as well as a great choice for anyone at all!
